Why should I choose to have an in-office procedure versus in the hospital setting?
- Safety: Encompass brings expert staff and state-of-the-art equipment to your Physician, affording the exceptional quality of a hospital operating room in the comfort of the office setting.
- Financial: The cost to you is typically much less than in the traditional operating room in the hospital setting.
- Convenience: You will be in your Physician’s familiar and comfortable office for a fraction of the time that you would be in the hospital setting. The average patient time spent in the Physician’s office is 1-2 hours versus 5-7 hours in the hospital.
Will Anesthesia be the same as in the hospital operating room?
Encompass only partners with physicians for anesthesia services. The independent anesthesiologist will give you a lighter sedation than what is used in the traditional operating room, while maintaining maximum comfort. This will enhance and facilitate a less lengthy recovery time.
How is Encompass compensated?
The costs for Encompass’ services are based on your insurance plan and your procedure. The maximum out-of-pocket charge to you from Encompass would be $500.00. (You may still have your physician co-pay and/or a separate small fee from the contracted anesthesiologist.)
THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL VALUE TO YOU, THE PATIENT.
The ambulatory setting of the Encompass surgical suite in your physician’s office replaces the main operating room in the traditional hospital setting. Depending on insurance, the majority of patients will have a higher out of network deductible and would expect additional charges from the hospital, if the procedure were performed in the hospital setting. Please ask your Physician’s office which would be more affordable for you.
